HUMANS
TELL ME HOW YOU CHEER EACH OTHER UP WHEN YOU'RE BEING PATHETIC AND SAD
I HAVE TRIED TO FEED MINE FOOD AND OFFER TO FIGHT HIM MULTIPLE TIMES BUT NEITHER OF THESE TACTICS HAVE WORKED
HIS SAD FEELINGS ARE ANNOYING AND MUST BE PUT TO AN END HOW DO I MAKE THEM STOP?

Dearest Grimmjow,

I can see that you have received a wide variety of replies with a wide variety of helpfulness, or lack thereof. I'd like to firstly explain that the emotions of humans are deeper than even the darkest oceans. What cheers one person up may only irritate another, for example. Truly, this is something I have pondered on for quite some time, myself...

Lacking the information of what this human friend (I assume?) of yours is like, I do have a few general pieces of advice.

One, attempt to locate the cause of the sadness. Is it an outside source, such as an incident, or words? Or is it within them, something that you can't possibly fully understand?

Proceed to step two either way. Offer your support as such: Ask if they would prefer to talk it out, to be distracted from it, or if they don't actually know what they want.

If they would like a distraction, and admit so, then the solution from that point onwards is much easier. If they either want to talk or don't know what they'd like, it becomes trickier, so please reference step one.

If the cause was outward, is it something that you can help them address? Ask if they'd like your opinion on the matter. If the cause is inward, ask if they'd like to explain it further to you, and if they'd prefer advice themselves or just companionship.

And lastly, regardless of the steps followed and the answers gathered, I believe that there is something to be treasured in having someone close. Carrying on as you normally do may just be enough to cheer them up naturally. Perhaps your focus on their sadness is only deepening it, as they may view themselves as a burden...

Of course, there are hundreds of other possibilities, and I don't have the information to properly convey a precise piece of advice. Nonetheless, I hope this is of some help.

Sincerely,
Sole of the Deep

( I'm so sorry for the tl;dr she's just like this. )

( grimmjow please!! )

Dearest Grimmjow,

Your answer has given me additional information. Could it be that this human is upset because you don’t listen to them?

I suggest you give it a try if that’s the case. As a reminder, listening is an active task.

Sincerely,
Sole of the Deep

Dear Grimmjow,

It was only an observation. Hmm, and I’d be happy to “switch this to audio” as you say, but I’m afraid I’m not completely familiar with it just yet. Would you mind telling me how?

Sincerely,
Sole of the Deep

Dear Grimmjow,

I greatly appreciate your assistance in this matter. I'll do my best to help you with your own situation, as well, while we're meeting. I shall head there now.

Thank you,
Sole of the Deep

( This is going to drain her social battery even more than she's estimating. But, a mask, how mysterious! She's very curious about the people here, and she's especially curious why this person seems to be "not human"...

So she arrives at the requested spot near the harbors, lingering as close to the ocean as she can. She stands out, proper and refined and her hair all neatly tied in a literal bow before the ponytail. She picks a spot out of the way of any people passing by, a hand curled loosely at her chin as she scans them all.

A mask... a mask. She'll just use her "leader" face, as always, it's fine! She just needs to meet this "masked" stranger. She's already mapped out all potential escape routes of the area, after all. You know, just in case. )

[ It isn't that Steve's got any kind of materialization abilities, and truthfully the way he's dressed (a simple dark t-shirt, denim jeans, military jacket over top, dark boots — he looks a little more ready for battle than he is for match-making) might make him stand out from this particular crowd, but while Grimmjow moves in on a girl who looks like she belongs in some kinda eight year old girl's book of fairytales, Steve overhears his last name and knows he's found the right person.

Or ... people.

Maybe.

He's still not entirely sure what the hell he's gotten himself into. ]

Uh — hello? [ He draws closer too, lifting a hand to catch the larger man's attention. He looks ... actually, he looks a lot like the way he reads over text. He's not sure what else he could have expected. ] I'm 'Harrington'. Steve Harrington.
