What’s up with the soulmate thing? Like, it seems kind of creepy and invasive. Is it actually that helpful?? Why would you willingly tie yourself to someone else like that???? I don’t get it.

@jinx
get used to it

otherwise you end up in the loony forest

This whole thing sucks.

that's what i was getting at from the start
you could fight it but it's gonna happen anyway
might as well get used to it

I guess I’m just gonna deal with my shadow by myself, if SOULMATES is the only solution. What a load of shit.

it's just the most effective
(supposedly)
they say getting all touchy feely works too

Like, if it has to do with happiness or whatever why can’t I just eat good food or something? Why does it have to involve weirdly personal interactions? Uuugh
@songbird
it definitely feels weird hearing somebody else in your head
but you get used to it

like why would I want somebody else in my head
I bet it's really annoying too if you've got somebody whose emotions are all over the place
[ Hmm. ]
but trust me. the pros way outweigh the cons

You have a soulmate?
no subject
we're from similar versions of Earth
which still feels weird to type but anyway
we've been there for each other since the day we met so it just made sense
it helps that he knows how to tune me out and showed me how to do it too
[ Way to make it sound like the two of you can't stand each other, Hibiki. ]

I guess it’s probably okay if you actually like the guy, but it’s gotta suck if you don’t. Which, yeah, I’m not sure why somebody would create a bond with someone they hate, but whatever. Lots of stupid people out there.
That’s still a LOT of trust to put in someone, though

sometimes it's an any port in a storm situation
yeah we're lucky to have each other
but even if we knew it would be fine, it was still terrifying!
I mean what if you can't turn it off or if it changes you somehow??
but it's been over a month and I'm still me so we're all good 😊

I guess it wouldn’t be the WORST thing ever if having a soulmate helped with it. (But I still don’t like it.)
[ And then, just to be contrary: ]
How do you know you’re still you?
no subject
She deletes her previous message and types a new one instead. She can't exactly private an anonymous account. Hmm. ]
because I'm talking to you right now
and if you want to try asking me that again to get a different answer, you're welcome to message me directly~ ✨️

Hey what does that mean
?????
[ Fine. ]

I've seen it mentioned in collusion with the instances of people's 'shadows' here, though, so I'm wondering if soulmates have anything to do with that?

I'm still not 100% on board with this soulmate business, but I think any success with it would depend upon your choice of soulmate.

The problem with the whole thing is that I don’t LIKE people, let alone like any of them enough to let them into my head. And it’s not like I’m the sort of guy people jump to be buddies with, y’know?

If you buy into any of this, it'd keep down the property damage from anything shadow-related.

it kinda has helped
i think
it's probably better than being bullied by your shadow anyway

[ A blatant lie, but this guy doesn’t need to know that. ]
It’s just a pain to deal with
Plus you don’t sound super confident about how well it’s working. Not inspiring a whole lot of confidence

Wait that sounds weird hold on
You got a soulmate then?
[ An invasive question, but it’s not like Bazz-B is known for tact. ]

[Less invasive given that he's in a post talking about having a soulmate. Signed up for the questions on this one.]

What’s it LIKE??
