I have a question for the group. Has anyone tried to find family or friends they have lost over the years, or a trace that they might have passed through the Netherworld? Have you been successful?

If not, would you? What would you say to them if you managed to find them?

That's a good question.
I would assume that talking to some of the restless that have been here for an extended period of time would work, but I was wrong

That would make sense if he did that instead of ending up here?

I hope so too. I would hate to think about a loved one going through any of what happens here in the Netherworld

Do you think he had any unfinished business? That might have kept him from crossing over fully.
It's my experience that that would tie them to the world of the living, but this place doesn't fit the norm that I'm used to

Is it possible that they would have ascended without showing up in the Netherworld? Does that sound feasible for the person you're thinking of?

There's only one person I would look for, and I don't want to look for them. If this is purgatory or even hell, then their existence here confirms the worst for me.

But if I did find them here?

I would want to know why they left me. Why no one would tell me the truth. Why a child had to be hurt over secrets.

I was thinking of my mother and father. I feel as if... saying this might make them seem like terrible people, though they were just rulers. ...I don't think they ascended so quickly. Perhaps it is due to the way we think in my world - where the afterlife is one, not segmented.

I can understand that. A part of me doesn't want to find them, but there are so many things that I want to say. So many things to apologize for.
And I suppose that finding them would be confirmation that they're really gone

Closure huh? I know how that feels. I suppose for me this is less about closure and more apologizing for not being there when I should have been. A selfish decision got them killed, and even if I know that saying sorry won't make things better, maybe then I can move on too.

The people I speak of are dead. You asked after those we had lost, after all, not those who are merely missing.

This Netherworld is not where souls are meant to go, at least not from my star. They are meant for the Aetherial Sea, as we call it, and that is where those who were close to me have gone.

Maybe you're right. But I have been searching for this person even before coming to the Netherworld, and while I would hate to think of them coming through here, I have to look for any leads

Not knowing why they were killed and by who, not being there when it happened, these things still haunt me.
The answers won't change the outcome, but I need to know.
And I want to at least apologize to them for not being there to protect them

I don't know what exactly happened, but I've got a hunch that whoever you want to apologize to could probably care less. If you lost them as a kid, they'll probably just be happy to see how much you've grown.

Maybe I'm completely off the mark, but that's just my hunch.
