I suppose. But it would be a strange thing.

We are a burden to these people and this ruler, though it is not our choice, they clearly neither need nor want us in any form. Everyone here is struggling to survive, and nightmares plague this place near daily it seems.

Though it is not our fault to be here, I do not think they have had much of a choice in the matter either. If it were a lie, it is a strange one to make in such circumstance.
