I am looking for some help in heating up a room-- heating a flat preferably, but even one room would be enough. A small device might not be enough for me, because... well. [for a few seconds, the video feed is on, showing a pale hand around something tube-shaped and covered in lustrous black scales, very long, the ends disappearing off-camera.

it's a snake tail. his tail, specifically.]

I am quite sensitive to the cold and will become sluggish, perhaps not as much as actual serpent-beasts, but still. I can't very well brumate until the weather warms up again, now can I?

Back home, there were places with floor heating, but... I'm not sure about anywhere here. It looks like fire is the most likely heat source.

I came from a place with heating and electricity, so I know of such things. But I've never been an electrician.

Unfortunately I'm not very good with that sort of thing either. Fire might be best here.

Thus the need for a fireplace, I know. Which this flat does not have.
I'm seeing more of a reason to move, I suppose.

I guess the good thing is, you probably don't have too much to have to move yet.

On the contrary, I do have enough things that require me to have at least two large boxes. But I'll rope someone in to help.

I don't believe that feeling strongly for stories is silly. Eliciting an emotion is exactly what they're meant to do, because emotion is what created them in the first place.

That's a fair point. I wonder if this place has its own stories, too... I haven't been around too much to look.

But have you been to the library yet?

I haven't, yet. Maybe we could check it out together sometime.

After you're settled and warm again, that is.

As it happens, I have thoughts of moving to Serene if this flat doesn't work out. Going to the library certainly wouldn't be out of the way.

Honestly, Serene seems like a good place. The library being not so out of the way is definitely a bonus.

I'm more concerned about the presence of fireplaces in houses. That would be quite convenient, wouldn't it?

Of course. If I didn't think ahead of the possibilities, I would have just traded a small cold space for another small cold space. I might as well just move to my room in the Shadowlands if that were the case, right?
