@daughter-sea
Winter is upon us, and if it is as I fear, it shall not be kind. Forgive my absence, I am taken quite ill and there was far too much to do to speak too long.
For those that brought me what they could, I have preserved it and stored it. It is ready for you to collect when you are able.
For all else, since it seems I have been ordered to stay a-bed for the most part until my strength returns, perhaps someone might play a game with me? It is very simple, you must come with a rhyme to match mine, then we continue until one of us cannot think of a line, I shall begin:

Do you need any help with the remaining work?

Perhaps I would take you up on that dinner, cooking for myself is a little pressing at the moment.

I can drop something off, sure.
( by which he means, he will get food from someone who knows what they're doing and bring it to her. he wasn't being self-deprecating about his lack of skill. )
How many more deliveries do you have left?

But please, I would love your company just for itself, also. Even if I am sure I look quite miserable.

Consider me duly warned.
( really, he should probably be warning her about his own present state but where would the fun be in that? )
