How are you thinking of this place?

Do you think you're a prisoner of some sort of powerful magic or do you think you're dead? Or is it something else?

If it's death, were you close to dying when you then woke up here? Because I know I wasn't. I cannot die so if this is death, I have some questions.

And what is your afterlife supposed to be like?

The Aetherial Sea. After death, both the soul and the memories attached drift into the Sea. Over time those memories fade away until, eventually, all that remains is the soul itself. Then it is ready to be reborn once more.

That was the fate of all sentient life, or at least I thought it was.

Reincarnation?

Is that unusual? The Restless here have spoken of 'Ascension' being possible. My guess is that souls who ascend are reborn.

Not unusual, just unfamiliar.

Unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't happen where I'm from.

Now that strikes me as strange.

What becomes of souls if they are not reborn? Where do new souls come from...?

Should they not get to rest?

Of course...but forever?

There is the belief of afterlives. Another place to continue to exist but they never return to Earth.

The heavens, you mean. Such beliefs exist on my star as well, though I've only seen proof of reincarnation through the Sea, which could be for the better. Especially if these eternal afterlives are meant to be a paradise.

I believe there are religions that believe in reincarnation. But I will admit to not having seen the evidence myself.

Well, merely being here is proof that not all stars share the same afterlife, is it not?

It's something. I don't know if I'd call it proof. I've had a lot of different ideas mentioned here.

'Evidence', then. If I knew how to reach it from here I would show you the Aetherial Sea myself. In the meanwhile you'll have to take my word, unfortunately.

Which is more than I do for most. I know you can't show me because of this place. It sounds interesting though.

Thank you, in that case. It's sort of a shame, though; it was sort of beautiful. Especially compared to this place.
