I've met guys like this while gigging and it's usually the same thing. They're "too caught up in their work," or "don't care about anything that doesn't involve him or his buddies." [ Yes, she's air-quoting. ]

I hate it too, but not every business guy is personable unfortunately. Some are just allowed to get away with it--case and point.
