trust me i get why nobody wants to talk about this whole thing. neither do i. but it kinda seems like we ought to compare notes and we can do it anonymous. or you can just use this to vent about how your shadow's an asshole idc

mostly i just keep seeing people say stupid shit and claim it was their shadow and i can't tell if this is just a case of your_experiences_are_not_universal.jpeg (sorry. obviously i don't have the meme on me) or if i'm going crazy. bcuz mine is so quiet i can't even tell it's there usually. so what's the deal???

(before you say i must be a good person who doesn't have much of a dark side: lol. but i'm not some evil psychopath who already acts on their worst impulses either)

No, I have heard no one else. Dreams I had before did follow me here, so death did not end them, but outside of that, I have not heard voices. Or otherwise encountered oddities.

Are there triggering events for the voices?

well for me i hear it more often when i'm anxious or afraid. but i don't think that's a unifying "triggering event"

if it's the shadow, then i think it's just using what it has in its toolset. the voice of someone you're scared of to make you more afraid. cruel words from someone you care about to pick at your insecurities. which all makes sense, if it's trying to get you to succumb to despair or whatever

that's such a ridiculous evil manipulative chessmaster villain plan tho. why doesn't your shadow just take over and kill you???

Manipulation and energy sources. Once an individual has succumbed to despair, the shadow can likely manipulate them into doing whatever it needs. A host willing and able to carry out tasks is better than a dead body, even if the host body is afraid.

Reason to investigate the shadows further and understand why we are here.
