trust me i get why nobody wants to talk about this whole thing. neither do i. but it kinda seems like we ought to compare notes and we can do it anonymous. or you can just use this to vent about how your shadow's an asshole idc

mostly i just keep seeing people say stupid shit and claim it was their shadow and i can't tell if this is just a case of your_experiences_are_not_universal.jpeg (sorry. obviously i don't have the meme on me) or if i'm going crazy. bcuz mine is so quiet i can't even tell it's there usually. so what's the deal???

(before you say i must be a good person who doesn't have much of a dark side: lol. but i'm not some evil psychopath who already acts on their worst impulses either)

and has anyone had any luck getting theirs to fuck off?

psychology is the study of the mind. why people think the way they do, what causes abnormalities, etc. it's a really broad and complicated field since it's not something you can get tangible physical evidence for.

repression is things you try not to acknowledge. it can be conscious (deliberate and knowingly) or subconscious (you don't even realise you're doing it) and i'd say it's most often either because of external social pressure or internal self-defence. like people with trauma can have repressed memories because their mind is trying to protect itself from that trauma

for comparison the entire country i lived in had a population of around 47 million last i heard, and my city had over 6 million

you don't. in a big city, nobody is really that concerned about each other's lives. they work jobs that don't have anything to do with you. you buy a coffee but you don't remember the face of the person who brewed it for you. most of the time you don't even know the people who live in the house beside yours.

as for how to fit them... you just don't leave any space unused. every part of the ground is real estate. and then you build up. put a dozen houses on top of each other.
