βͺ on your screen, waves in the background, high and lapping at the seawall that surrounds most of stygia, threatening to spill over. itβs a relatively common sight when colder weather settles; what isnβt is the woman in the foreground, cheeks round and full as she slowly exhales an abundance of concerns she clearly struggles to voice. β«
Iβmβ¦ so sorry. Where do I even beginβ¦ βͺ she shakes her head, visibly contrite. when she raises her hand, as if to shush an invisible companion, the tempest behind her seemingly subsides. β« Thereβs been a terrible mistake. Many... mistakes. Some of you have been inadvertently imprisoned, and Iβve reached out to Amun in the hopes of rectifying the situation as soon as possible. There will be compensation for those of you who were wrongly mistreated. βͺ her eyes, red-rimmed, flash vehement for a fraction of a second. β« Mark my words.
βͺ whether itβs a promise to you or a threat to the hierarchy remains to be seen, though the apologetic glint in her gaze seems genuine. briefly she bows her head, fingertips to her lips as she coughs and clears her throat, a pink petal flitting in the breeze. β« In the meantime, please know that our Healers are actively working to find a cure to the Harvestβs Curse. Itβs not much, but donβt despair just yet. If your symptoms worsen, seek Rosuv in Mirth, and tell him Assanaβs sent you. βͺ her mouth stretches, a forlorn smile. β« Stay strong.
βͺ and the feed cuts. β«
βͺ OOC | assana is the npc with blueish hair that you might have run into before! iβve decided to breathe some more life into her and chose daenerys as her pb. sheβs available for semi-regular cr (slower, probably) even tho sheβs still an npc, but cr =/= privileges. assana obviously has knowledge that PCs do not possess, but we'll always ensure that all characters have access to the same opportunities.
if you do seek rosuv, you'll find him in a nightclub in mirth; he's a bartender. heβll give you a bottle of warm oil that you can apply to your throat and chest, for free! itβll help you breathe easier for a few hours, and has similar effects to cannabis.
you can now reach amun the elusiveassholeand ask him once question each! that's his deal for this month β«

[ And better guarantee he'd actually answer them. ]
And how may we secure supplies? Most of us are barely able to get the coin that seems so important here and I fear for the coming winter.
[ Money is bullshit, signed a woman from a gift economy who was fully expected to feed her entire population every year - this feels like a cop-out on duties, but she is holding her tongue on that as best she can.
As much as she might want to just hurl rocks at his window, that won't get them anywhere.
So deep breathe, and diplomacy it is. ]

assana switches to text, if only to link her. β«
There you go! I can't promise how quickly he'll get back to you... but here you have it!
As for supplies, there's a bunch of abandoned houses all around Stygia, if that helps! You'll find food in Serene's gardens, a few odd jobs here and there. I have coin to spare, if you need.

[ There is another pause. Between struggling to breathe and the stress-induced tension-headache she's giving herself in sheer worry? It takes a second to try and word it. ]
I say this in care, I understand all you are doing for us and that you care for our plight.
But it seems there will be more of us, and I worry this will... will not sustain us. Abandoned houses need repair to be safe against winter winds, or summer rains, that means building supplies and tools to do it with. How bad will winter be? Will we risk being locked in our homes? If so, how will we eat?

Seasons are... unpredictable, but even that is a bit of an understatement. There could be a blizzard tomorrow, a heatwave the next day, and no one would bat an eye. It gets a bit crazy at times, but you'll get used to it, I'm sure!
I think you'd be able to find what you need in the Barrens, as far as tools go. Just don't go alone.

And land? What of land. Good farmable land that you could keep animals and crops on?

The Hinterlands are another option... but it's a one-way trip. People usually choose to live there when the struggle against their Shadow becomes overwhelming. You won't be allowed back in.
gomen for making everyone figure ~agriculture
This land in Serene, is it free to us?
SHE IS SO PRECIOUS
You'll find unoccupied lots in Serene, abandoned houses, and some landlords do give us free access to their gardens.
SHE JUST WANTS EVERYONE TO BE OK :C
And what tithe will they expect of our yields?
