…What do you mean by organize? [His question is nothing more than a whisper.] We all hail from different realms, some more different than the next.

The only commonality we share is the crisis before we and panic make poor comfort.

Well — inconsolably true, yes. We're from variant worlds it seems, with diverse perspectives. And I think that's a resource in of itself. You think I'm being too optimistic?

Not exactly but then again, I'm a pessimist at heart.

[While he views himself as old and bitter at this point, there's still a hint of optimism left in him. Just a little bit.]

But what good is to be had from our diverse backgrounds? Our perspectives alone won't help us understand our current plight.

I'll agree with that, yes. Perspective alone won't solve anything — but I'm hoping it might reveal ideas we as individuals can't quite see. A mass brainstorming, if you will. [Brightly:] I think you'd have a lot to offer in such a conversation.

A mass brainstorming session? That's rather...clever. [He's warming up to the idea. His tone says it all.] Wait, who? Me?

Ah, I well--[He takes a moment to clear his throat.] I suppose I could be of some form of assistance.

Honestly, that's great to hear. [He notices that warmth—subtle as it is—and responds in kind:] And an intelligent individual like yourself, I imagine you have a great capacity for quickly assessing a situation. I think some in our number might still be suffering shock and we need a realist to sound the alarm, get people moving. What do they call it — fight or flight?

That's a bold assessment about someone you barely know. [He teases.] But you're not wrong.

[He's been trying to figure out how all this came to be since he first met the Reaper who rescued him. Sadly, he's no closer to answers at this time than he was back then. While others might be deterred, he views this as a challenge. The secrets of this perilous realm will be unlocked sooner or later.]

Nevertheless, you're more than correct. I'm not one for fearmongering but I do suggestion utmost caution in Stygia. Something feels abnormally off about this realm, the city, and the very people who live here.

If we're going to organize anything, let it be information first.

I've been accused of boldness now and again, [mostly from Viktor, mostly when he takes a similar tone tot his gentleman. The muscles bunched in his shoulders relax when he's told he's not wrong, he thinks brightly that they're still on the same page. Jayce sinks into the reassurance of that thought.]

Information — yes! We'd do best knowing as much as we can before moving concretely. I can offer myself as an analyst—mostly a scientific one—and I'd guess some of us are fairly good at gathering other forms of intel. [He does not suggest himself for this role.] We might environmental and social threats explored.

A scientific analyst, hm? [He can't help but smirk a little once he hears that.] Someone who could easily breakdown information into a more conceivable form is invaluable.

[This is definitely beneficial, especially since so many of them hail from different "time periods" as well. It's only by the grace of whatever deity that exists that most of them speak the same language.]

As for gathering the necessary intel, I wouldn't mind volunteering.

Some of my earliest skillset, yes. I'm known in my world as an inventor — which I'd pursue here, too, once I understand... everything a little better. [His way of admitting he doesn't know what's going on right now, at all. The creeping thrill of discovery quiets, however, when he hears volunteering.]

Yes! That's good to hear, you seem more than adept at the endeavor. Maybe I can find others who would be able to learn from you? If you don't mind, hypothetically, commanding a small grouping.

[While he's not against the idea of exploring the unknowns, he can't help but balk at the notion of being some sort of leader. Honestly, the thought of such a responsibility terrifies him a bit but he puts on a brave face. It's one thing to fling himself into unknowing dangers but others? That's a whole different story.]

That would be...quite helpful. [He's a little tense now but his tone remains friendly, nonetheless.] I'll admit, I've been taking the time combing through various profiles on that "app" in hopes of finding others interested in further exploring the Shadowlands.

Have you? Already off to a good start, [he's encouraged by the news, perhaps side-stepping any subtle tension in his company's tone,] and have you found significant results? Anyone of interest?

Two prospects, if nothing else. An otherworldly adventurer by the name of Cedrik and exorcist who calls himself Lan Wangji.

[It goes without saying that having an exorcist on their fledging team would be rather beneficial here in the Netherworld.]

Cedrik seems to be the most seasoned between the two but I hope to meet with others.

[The soft scratch of a writing utensil to some surface — whether Jayce found a pen or conceived one with charcoal remains unseen.]

Cedrik and Lan Wangji. Excellent, thank you, I'll seek them out and introduce myself [daringly:] as your friend.

Friends are we? [There's a tinge of humor in his tone as he regards Jayce.] I would say we're more like "colleagues" instead, especially since we have yet to meet in person.
