As a literal extension of your being, they'll easily gain access to your thoughts if you let them (or if you're careless), they'll experience your pains, fears, and joys on weaker levels, and their voice, touch and overall vicinity can become great soothing weapons against your Shadow. However. If two characters already share a powerful bond and one incidentally touches the other's Tethers, it's an accidental done deal. You may thank Naruto's player for this.

I appreciate the sentiment.
But keep in mind that there are many ways to be useful. Some people will just by happy talking to you. We're all dead, after all. Not everyone is going to be able to reconcile with that fact.
...Honestly, I know a few people who would think we're in a stupid isekai setting...

I hope so... I'd be happy if I could do that much for others.
Though I'm having a hard time adjusting to things myself, too.
This just feels like a normal town in a strange place. It's so easy to forget that we've died...

That's understandable. Some people can accept it and move on right away, others deny and push the facts down, and others still take a while to process everything.
It didn't take much for me to accept everything. I wonder if that makes me weird.
