npc || amun [ @ hierarchy ]
Allow me to make this clear. For those of you who wonder still: I am the Hierarchy. You do not come to us; we summon, invite, and hire. Order is of the utmost importance if you wish to survive, and time is of the essence. Do not waste mine.
( behind him, movement. if you squint, you may notice strands of greying hair near the door, though the person it belongs to remains off-screen. )
Your personal troubles are your own. If you expected us to hold your hand, do think again; there are far greater affairs to attend to, so do yourselves a favor, and look for soulmates. We've prepared an application for you, easily accessible from your device's home page. Should you need additional information, perhaps it's time for you to practice self-reliance.
I will not be answering questions.
( and the feed cuts, abruptly, without greetings or a name. )
► Amun will not be responding, though you're absolutely welcome to react, comment and discuss amongst yourselves on this post! Other NPCs might show up!
► This is, more or less, Tinder for Soulmates o/ You'll find the permanent post (aka phone application) right HERE! If you're interested, simply fill out the form and comment on the post, and bam. Browse, swipe left or swipe right, and have fun! This is not mandatory.
► Forms and replies should be posted ICly (yes, even if it's located in the OOC comm -- you may choose one (1) thread for october's AC) .
► Another character may post in your character's stead. Additionally, feel free to have their Shadow influence their blurb!
► The application offers all the information your character needs to know! To recap: All that's required for another Restless to become your Soulmate is for them to enter your home, touch your Tethers upon invitation, and from then on, a piece of their soul will merge with yours, fortifying your Self. As a literal extension of your being, they'll easily gain access to your thoughts if you let them (or if you're careless), they'll experience your pains, fears, and joys on weaker levels, and their voice, touch and overall vicinity can become great soothing weapons against your Shadow. However. If two characters already share a powerful bond and one incidentally touches the other's Tethers, it's an accidental done deal. You may thank Naruto's player for this.
► You may have multiple Soulmates!
► If you have questions regarding the app, redirect them here!

[ Silco has little concept of an afterlife. Who is he to say, that this wouldn't be where he would end up? ]
Perhaps this is how purgatory and the afterlife have always been, and we never know. I'm not exactly an expert. This isn't my...wheelhouse.

[ Naked and screaming for help was not anyone's idea of a peaceful resurrection. ]
I have studied scripture much in life but... it never mentioned such a place. It spoke only that the soul is elevated beyond mortal fears.
[ And this did not sound like that. ]
no subject
Although this certainly doesn't sound like your studies. [ A beat, considering. Silco had always said he had moved beyond fear, but... he didn't think he could voice that lie now. ] The experience thus far has only sought to remind me of my mortality.
It's not a reminder I was keen on before, and I cannot say I've enjoyed it so far.

... The bruise on her face, currently, a reminder of just what she wanted, and was denied. ]
I was taught to find peace, in death. It comes to us all, whether you are great or small. That it should bring an ultimate... harmony to oneself. A natural restoration in the path of living things. When we are given back to the Spirits, we should rejoice.
[ A hum. The prayers on her lips come forth from the many funerals she had attended. ]
That is why this is... jarring. I have not been returned to them. I feel... further from them, than ever before.

It is very different than how we treat death, where I am from. If you are dead, you presented a weakness, you were unable to survive, or would not grasp the power or would not do what was necessary to survive.
[ He says this, and yet -- Wasn't he dead? Hadn't he just been killed, himself? He hoped, of course, that his death had served purpose, and as much as he wanted to feel anger about it, he was more angry about being here, than he was angry about being dead. ]
There are no "spirits" waiting, for we Zaunites. Perhaps your stories of the dead weren't accurate? [ Even to Silco, it's needlessly cruel, when he has just met her. He isn't out to make enemies. Yet. ] Or perhaps this is merely a step on the way.

But what was she to know of his land, far from hers? When certainly, lesser men have tried to kill her and failed. ]
They are not stories. They were given to us by the Spirits themselves. [ A polite, if firm, insistence. ] But I suppose I can see too why there should be a strength found in survival. [ A compromise at least. ] ... Though there is another theory, I suppose, that this is the realm of another kind of Spirit.
But I do not know any Lord or Lady that should speak to their people such as this Hierarch has spoken to us now.

[ He asks it with the implication: it was expected, to him. Then again, when your ruling body is either a disinterested council looking only to make money off of your city's labor -- or he and the chembarons running roughshod -- it's exactly what Silco expects from leadership. ]
I can tell you that I expected outright indifference, let alone addressing. While he sounded annoyed... [ A note. ] At least we know who's in charge, don't we?
I think the "soulmates" are what makes the least amount of sense, personally.

Rulers who do not listen to their people, do not live long, nor happy, lives.
no subject
[ It's said, snidely. ]
I think you and I have very different experiences with rulers.
no subject
It is a little different, when you are one, and they are one's parents, siblings, spouses and the future of your children.
no subject
I'm afraid that is much different than the experience I've had with your type, then. People like me are normally beneath your...elevated notice.
[ Until they become a problem, of course. ]
no subject
Spare us both that then. My notice is what is in front of me. My only concern if we are not being cared for, we need to feed, clothe and prepare ourselves for the advent for worse.
no subject
[ His tone, of course, remains mostly neutral, a touch of sarcasm. Those in power so often, in his experience, liked to present themselves as the logical alternative. Above the masses, concerned with only what was best.
There's a sound, of a clink -- pshh-- of a lighter, before he speaks again, supposedly through a mouthful of a smoke. ]
You'll want to find people who know how to survive against all odds, to figure out how to do that. Thankfully, the clothes seemed to be found readily enough.

But then, the flicker of that dislike would have been enough to make her squirm in need to please, once, fall over herself to prove herself, must, must. Now she presses her tongue against the roof of her mouth as she clicks on a thought.
My how she has grown, her mother would say. Then again, her mother would have probably said something worse by now. ]
'Survive against all odds' will do for a short time, for a few of us. But there are at least five dozen score that I could rough count, and children amongst it too, and if what I saw on the ships was any measure of the more rough, immediate skills? I worry for the winter to come.

[ He says, like it's no big deal. Then again... look at his factories, and Silco's opinions on what children can take are clear. ]
I think such endeavors are much more suited to royalty, don't you? If they've decided to deign us with their grand leadership, of course. I'm afraid I'm... [ there's a pause, like he's waving his hand. ] A mere bar owner.
no subject
[ Eyebrow lift. Mere bar owners do not have opinions like this, nor carry tones like seasoned courtiers. Who knows what he is at all of course, but consider her suspicious. ]
And I am merely a farmer's daughter.
no subject
[ He doesn't believe it, of course. In Silco's mind, he can see the construction, just like many of Piltover's high houses. The Talis clan alone was known for their forges and construction, but that hardly meant that the family were merely blacksmiths.
No, Silco had been kicked down by a few too many Enforcer boots in his youth -- and paid off even more as an adult -- for him to not understand that the phrasing was particular. There's no smile in his voice, but it's still as cool and pleasant. ]
Well, perhaps there will be room for you to ask those interested in helping, when it comes to it. And if you need to know the best drink to get you the most drunk, well -- I suppose you can see me. [ Or not. He literally has no interest in actually running a bar. ]
